Boboli Gardens vs Blue-tooth morons

GOOD THING: BOBOLI GARDENS
The closest place to paradise that I've found is Boboli Gardens in Florence. When visiting the city two years ago, the gardens were recommended to me by a work colleague, and we ended up spending an afternoon there towards the end of our stay. The Boboli Gardens date back to the 16th century and are part of the Palazzo Pitti - but just skip the palace and head for the total serenity of the 'giardini' (impressed by my native-like Italian?) You can spend hours exploring the gardens, and go for long stretches of time without seeing another human being (or tourist.) There are gorgeous fountains and architecture, sculptures old and new, fantastic views into the surrounding countryside, miles of arbors and loads of places to sit and relax. We took a pic-nic and sat on a terrassed area looking down on the palace, and even a large outing of German teenagers couldn't detract from the beauty of the place. There are very few places that you wish you never had to leave, and the Boboli Gardens is mine.
BAD THING: BLUE-TOOTH MORONS
I'm all for people using hands-free technology in their cars, but do people really need to wear their blue-tooth headsets in the supermarket? Why would anyone wear one if it wasn't totally necessary? Those who do look like something from BBC's Tomorrow's World twenty years ago ("how people will communicate in the year 2025"), and in which case should be also be wearing head-to-toe spandex or whatever it was that people thought folks would be wearing in the new millennium. What is even more bizarre is when you see two people together, both wearing blue-tooths (or blue-teeth, I don't know), which to me seems highly unsociable. It looks like, "Hey, I might get an important call that will be far preferable to talking to you"; I've even seen couples holding hands and doing this, and parents out with their kids. Who could call who would be that important? What could be so urgent that the blue-tooth wearer would lose valuable seconds if they had to reach inside their pocket or bag for their mobile? I wish my life was that exciting.
